Chalet Le Loissel

The chalet, built over 200 years ago has been lovingly restored from its original use as a barn by your hosts, Jonny and Kumari. Making use of the old beams and large glass windows we have created the perfect place to spend your holiday.
The chalet has good sized rooms, furnished to create a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We are always on hand and are fully involved in every aspect of your holiday from the initial booking down to waving you off at the end of your stay. This enables us to provide a high standard throughout your holiday. The Accommodation Comprises of:

Ground Floor (with underfloor heating)
Bedroom 1: Twin beds with ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.

Bedroom 2: Double bed with ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.

Bedroom 3: Twin beds with ensuite
bathroom with bath/shower and W/C

1st Floor
Large open plan kitchen/dining room and living area with log burning stove, wood floors and comfy chairs. There is a CD player and DVD player for your enjoyment.
The patio doors lead onto a paved terrace with decking and outdoor Hot Tub.

  2nd Floor
Bedroom 4: 3 single beds with extensive views over the Beaufort mountains and the villages below.Ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.

Bedroom 5: Twin beds and bunk beds(sleeps 4).Ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.

There is room for a “put me up” bed in one room if the need arises.

  Chalet Le Loissel is a family-run renovated farmhouse set in the beautiful French farming village of Le Loissel, Villaroger, in the heart of the Haute Tarentaise. This Alpine hamlet is full of natural charm and beauty. Away from the hustle and bustle of commercialised resorts you will sample typical French Alpine lifestyle with all the home comforts. Looked after by the owners "Jonny and Kumari" this is a true "home from home" where guests return year on year.   During the winter some of the worlds best skiing is only minutes away from our door, the nearest being a 4 minute drive to Paradiski comprising of Les Arcs and La Plagne. This is one of the largest ski areas in the world, which we enter via the chairlift at Villaroger.

Although there is endless skiing in Paradiski (over 425km of pistes and 143 lifts), our neighbouring resorts of Val D'Isere, Tignes, La Rosiere and Sainte Foy are only a 15-20 minute drive away. This enables you to try a ski safari, visiting a different resort every day, for those who want something a little different.

 

Winter Activities

Paradiski

Only 4 minutes drive from the chalet lies the resort of Villaroger with the chairlift taking you up to the fabulous ski area of Paradiski (Les Arcs / La Plagne)

One of the largest ski areas in the world and boasting the longest black run in Europe (Some 7km which actually finishes in Villaroger), skiing here is endless, suiting all levels. The Vanoise Express lift between Les Arcs and La Plagne is an experience in itself!!
Up above Villaroger you will find some of the best off piste skiing in Les Arcs, easily accessible off the Grand Col lift, for those who feel a little more adventurous. Long after the resorts of Val D’Isere and Tignes have been tracked out, the off-piste powder is still here enabling you to make fresh tracks days after a snowfall.

Val D’Isere and Tignes

This world-famous ski resort (Due to hold the World Cup in 2009) is a 20 minute drive away. The Espace Killy area linking Val D’Isere and Tignes boasts 300km of pistes, offering skiing to suit all levels, from cruisy blues to some of the most challenging off-piste in the world

La Rosiere
This is the only Savoyard resort to offer an International Ski area of 150km of pisted runs is only 15 minutes drive away. From here you can ski down into La Thuile, Italy, for a well-earned Italian lunch. Or for those who are a little more adventurous, enjoy the magic and thrill of a heli-skiing trip.

Ste Foy

This unspoilt, beautiful resort is a 15 minute drive away. Here you can enjoy some of the finest powder skiing and boarding around, or alternatively, ski the gentle tree-lined pistes. Build up an appetite and enjoy lunch in a traditional Savoyard Restaurant. And best of all - no queues for the lifts!!!

Ski School/lessons

We would like to point out that for total beginners or children who require ski school, the nearest ski school is in the resort of Arc 1600, which requires a ten minute drive down to Bourg St Maurice to take the funicular up to Arc 1600. Alternatively, there is a ski school at Ste Foy, which is a fifteen minute drive away. We can also make arrangements for a personal ski instructor subject to availability. This service has proved highly popular with our guests in the past.
 

Ski Hire

Book your skis and ski boots before your holiday and they will be delivered direct to Chalet Le Loissel for fitting. Let others do the running around, so that you can hit the slopes the moment you arrive in the mountains.

 Summer Activities

The Tarentaise

The Tarentaise during the summer is a beautiful area to enjoy the unspoilt, breathtaking scenery and soak up the glorious sunshine. There are endless activities for you to enjoy.

Les Arcs

Les Arcs is well known for mountain biking, and a track actually runs through our village. The lifts are open during July and August to enable you to "climb the mountain the easy way" then cycle down from the top.
There is also summer skiing on the Glacier in Tignes during July and August. You could have a great ski in the morning and then sunbathe in the afternoon

Other activities include:
Swimming (outdoor and indoor pools) parapenting, white-water rafting, kayaking, walking, climbing, horse riding, canyoning, hydrospeeding, quad biking, Archery, Golf (Tignes GC has the highest tee in Europe!) among almost limitless others....

There are also lots of things geared for children during July and August including:
Bouncy castles, tyre-riding, street carnivals, Circus' and fetes. We also have a lake for bathing only 20 minutes away, not forgetting a day trip to Annecy which is only 1.5 hours away.
In Bourg St. Maurice, 15 minutes drive away, we have the Olympic size indoor pool, as well as 2 outdoor pools.

All in all, whether you would like to relax at the chalet and take things easy, or enjoy full-on activities, Chalet Le Loissel is an ideal location.

Mountain Biking

Perfectly situated with ride in/ride out trails, Chalet Le Loissel is a fabulous place to spend your mountain biking holiday.

With easy trails, single tracks and technical and challenging downhill's, Les Arcs is an extensive mountain biking domain.

The ski lifts open during July and Aug enable you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and views of Mont Blanc, without having to make the up hill slogs!!!!

With over 100 kms and 2000m of vertical descent, of maintained and prepared mountain biking tracks, Les Arcs and the surrounding Alpine villages offers a stunning playground for cross country riders through to hardcore downhillers. The Tarentaise Valley is also home to some of the most famous Mountain passes. The Col de L'Iseran ,Col du Petit St Bernard (down into Italy) and the Cormet de Roseland to name a few are accessible from the chalet. Chalet Le Loissel
